You are making the change to lead a healthier, detoxed lifestyle. Daily lemon water – check. Organic fruit and veggies - check. Daily skin brushing – check, check, check.

This is so awesome, and you should feel super proud of yourself!

However, if you don't remove some of the toxins from your home you may always struggle with your weight, no matter how many green juices you have!

Your home, should be a haven - a nice respite from the world where you can relax and recharge.

But unfortunately, it can be a health hazard!

The average home has between 500 – 1,000 chemicals that you can’t see, smell or taste. In fact, indoor air is around 4 times more polluted than outdoor air!

I am constantly appalled that the "big chemical industry" is allowed to sell toxic products that we use in our homes, around our children, and our elderly parents. From the neurotoxic benzene in our cleaning products, to the dangerous VOC's in our furniture, these nasty chemicals are in almost everything.

Children, in general, are more vulnerable to the effects of toxic chemicals in the home, as their organs and immune systems are not yet fully developed.

And guess what this can all result in? Compromised health, excess weight, and a range of illnesses from Alzheimer’s to stroke and cancer.

Which begs the question, if these chemicals are so dangerous for humans, why aren’t they banned?

Today I’m sharing ways you can simply reduce your toxic exposure. Watch my video tutorials, read my content, and start turning your home into the "health haven" it is meant to be.

Simple steps like; not wearing shoes in the house, regularly airing your house, and having air purifying indoor plants, can significantly reduce the amount of toxins and pollutants in your home.

Ditch the Toxins for a Clean, Green Bathroom!

Did you know that there are around 10,000 chemicals that have been approved for use in personal care products?

The reality is that these skin care and personal care products with chemicals and preservatives, are blocking the detoxification pathways and affecting your health in a myriad of ways.

If you would like to make a change for your health, you can start by first switching out a personal care product you use all the time, like a body wash or cream. If you like the way it makes you feel, switch out another product, and so on, until you have stocked your bathroom cupboards with safe, natural products.

By doing this you will notice an improvement in your overall health which in turn will improve the way you look - win win!

Watch my video where my daughter and I share our favourite pure, natural, and safe personal care products for the bathroom.

You heard me right, that's 10k! Crazy, hey?

On average, adults are exposed to 110 different chemicals, and children 60 chemicals a day. This is mainly from personal care products that are developed to keep them (us!) clean, smelling sweet, and looking good.

The reality is that these toxins - phthalates, parabens, petroleum endocrine disrupters - cause inflammation, which can wreak havoc on your hormones, and over time can lead to lowered energy, bad sleep, and even disease.

Doesn't sound fun, does it?

The beauty industry loves to promote the promise of eternal youth, skyscraper lashes and a holiday glow, but there is a scary truth hiding behind the promises of beauty and attraction.

Using Toxin-Free Cleaning Products

Cleaning your house regularly is key to a healthy home. However, using non-toxic cleaning supplies is even more key!

Other studies have shown that conventional laundry products are one of the highest contributors to household toxicity!

These findings are alarming, but not surprising given the variety of toxic chemicals - ammonia, triclosan, parabens, phthalates - that are commonly found in commercial cleaning products.

So what can you do about it?

There are 21 ingredients inside all purpose cleaners which can have an impact on health, from asthma and eczema, through to fertility and developmental effects. Be mindful of these toxins when choosing your cleaning products next.

In the meantime, watch my video tutorial and download my guide for ideas on how you can make your own toxin-free cleaning products, or for where to buy products that are safe and healthy for you and your family.

There’s nothing like the ease and convenience of an all-purpose or multi-purpose cleaner to make dreaded house-cleaning chores a breeze. But there’s a price to pay for that convenience when it comes to the ingredients you use and the hormonal health of your family.

After doing extensive research into the ingredients in the most popular cleaning brands, I discovered a host of toxic substances that you might not want around your family.

Evidence is mounting that these chemical exposures are contributing to the rising levels of chronic health problems, and we already know they are polluting the environment.

A surprising study on the long-term health effects of cleaning products found that inhaling sprays and other chemical cleaners at home or work may be as damaging to lungs as a 20-year, pack-a-day smoking habit!

Detox your Household Products

Common household products that can put your health at risk.

Just as I want all the effort you’re making to detoxify your body and lose weight to really pay off.

I don’t want anything to negate or undo all your hard work.

Cleaning up VOCs inside your home can be as simple as opening windows regularly, and getting some NASA approved plants.

Once you start removing the toxicity, step by step from your home, you will create immense health benefits like: eliminating inflammation, decreasing joint pain, clearing up your skin and even brain fog … so you get your joie de vivre back!

To help you get started, here are three SIMPLE 'tried and tested' steps you can do to start reducing the toxic exposure in your home.

There are so many toxic products in our homes, that it can seem overwhelming at first.

It certainly was for me when I first got started!

However, I soon realised that it was worth it. By just removing air fresheners, I was able to reduce over 100 different chemicals in the home.

I knew that deep down all of the toxic-laden products (personal care products, cleaning products, plastics) were not supporting my health and weight loss goals, or the health of my family.

I knew that I wanted to live a long and healthy life, and to reduce my chances of getting alzheimers, dementia, and other lifestyle affected diseases.

I want this for you to.
