It's a new year and a new decade.

Did you leave 2019 and the festive season feeling a bit flat, moody, fatigued, unmotivated, and without mojo? What do you want in 2020?

Do you want to feel more motivated, healthy, and happy? What else do you want? Do you desire to be financially stable? To get your old energy back? To launch a dream project?

Time to dream big

I don't know about you, but this time of year gets me "crazy inspired" to dream BIG! We all have desires, wants, dreams, and goals, and the start of a new year is the perfect time to manifest what you want to achieve in this year ahead.

One of the tools I use at the start of every new year is a vision board, and I have to say it worked spectacularly for me in 2019! The main goals on last year's vision board were to recover from Lyme's Disease, grow Living Mojo's detox program, purchase the family dream home, and get a dog. They all came to fruition, with the last one scrapping through on the 21st December when the cutest toy cavoodle "Miley" joined our family.

How to create your vision board

If you are a visual person, this is an incredible goal setting tool which truly works - I'm proof in the pudding! It's also a fun task to do with your family over these holidays.

All you need to do is get a large piece of thick plain white cardboard for everyone and set up a table with the cardboard, pens, stickers, magazines, photos, and computer print outs.

Questions to guide your vision

Next, hold a vision of how you would love your life to be and ask yourself these questions:

  • What are your top four goals for 2020? (grow your business/achieve success at work, lose weight, find an ideal romantic partner, be more financially abundant, achieve a stronger spiritual connection, start a regular fitness program, etc)
  • What specific steps might you take to achieve the above goals?
  • Do you have a health goal that you are determined to kick in 2020?
  • Do you want to kick a bad habit or addiction, how might you do this?
  • What's holding you back from living your best life?
  • What lights you up and makes you feel truly happy?

Make a collage out of your photos, magazine cuts outs, etc. Your vision of your ideal life shouldn't be focused on "stuff" so much as on how you want to FEEL. Add words that you want to feel on a daily basis - such as: "joyful," "abundant," "powerful," "fearless," "loved," "strong," "healthy," "loving," and "financially free."

The saying "A picture is worth a thousand words," certainly holds true here. Put your vision board somewhere you can see it every day and you will prompt yourself to visualise your ideal life on a regular basis.
